The YINDI 'Butchulla Collection'

Creating a workspace that is both highly functional and deeply meaningful is a rare balance. That is why we are incredibly proud to announce our official partnership with YINDI to supply their extraordinary 'Butchulla Collection' office seating range.

Partnering with YINDI: Bringing the Stories of Country into the Modern Workplace

This partnership is about far more than just adding beautiful, high-quality furniture to our catalog—it is about celebrating First Nations culture, preserving language, and bringing authentic storytelling into everyday corporate spaces.

Furniture with a Deeper Purpose: The Butchulla Collection

The YINDI 'Butchulla Collection' is a majority Australian-made office seating range that holds cultural connection at its very core. Named using Butchulla language words accompanied by English translations, each piece serves as a living connection to the land and sea of K’gari (Fraser Island), the traditional home of the Butchulla People and its six clans.

More than just commercial furniture, this collection is a dedicated celebration of Aunty Jeannie Bell. Aunty Jeannie—a Jagera and Dulingbara woman—was a legendary First Nations linguist, educator, and "languages warrior" who dedicated her life to preserving Aboriginal languages. She developed the very Butchulla language dictionary used today.

Through this partnership, we are honored to help carry on her incredible legacy, using office furniture as a unique canvas to educate both First Nations and Non-First Nations people in Aboriginal language.

Artistry on Display: The Basalt Black Fabric

A standout feature of this range is the striking YINDI Basalt Black Fabric, designed by acclaimed Aboriginal creative Jedess Hudson. A descendant of the Ewamian and Western Yalanji people of North Queensland and a member of the Indigenous Art Code, Jedess is renowned for translating traditional stories into contemporary mediums.

The Basalt Black design draws deep inspiration from the native basaltic rocks of her traditional homelands. Known for their density and durability, these rocks were resourcefully crafted by Aboriginal people into essential tools—such as cutting blades, scrapers, spearheads, and grinding stones.

By incorporating Jedess’s design into the Butchulla Collection, your workspace won't just look sophisticated; it will visually represent the resilience, ingenuity, and expert craftsmanship of Indigenous heritage.

Why This Partnership Matters to Us (and Your Workspace)
